Leading the AI transformation is a facilitated workshop where a leadership team agrees what AI transformation means for its business, tries AI hands-on, and plans how to lead the change: what changes, what stays, and how to bring managers and employees along. Think Big Leaders runs it in Stockholm, elsewhere in Sweden, in Copenhagen, Helsinki and Oslo, elsewhere in the EU, or online.

In English, or in Swedish if you tell us when you book. Outside Sweden, in English.

Why leadership teams book this

The board wants an AI plan with results. Employees are trying AI on their own and asking what it means for their jobs. Customers expect more, and competitors keep announcing new AI services. The leadership team is expected to answer all four, and the answers only hold if the team agrees on them first.

It starts with where you are

We don't arrive with a fixed program. Before the day, we hold discovery calls with the sponsor and, where useful, a few members of the team. If it helps, participants can also answer a short optional survey. That tells us where you are with AI, what the team agrees on and what it doesn't, and what AI transformation should mean for you. The day is built from that.

Who it is for

Leadership teams and management teams in companies in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway and elsewhere in the EU who are starting an AI transformation, or have started and feel stuck. Typically 5 to 15 people. No prior AI knowledge needed.

What you leave with

  • A shared view of what AI transformation means for your business
  • Job aids and frameworks, with examples adapted to your industry, your context and your company
  • Your own hands-on experience of working with AI on real tasks
  • Agreement on what changes and what stays
  • A clearer split between challenges a tool can solve and those that need people to learn new ways of working
  • A plan for bringing managers and employees along, with the next steps owned by named people

  6. 14:00What changes, what stays, and what people may feel they lose
  7. 15:00The leadership team's own role: pace, experiments, going first

  9. 17:00Close

How we choose the methods

We pick the frameworks to fit your situation, not the other way round. Depending on the team, that can include adaptive leadership (Ronald Heifetz, Alexander Grashow and Marty Linsky), to separate technical problems from the ones that ask people to learn and adapt, and Amazon's Working Backwards, to start from the customer when you decide where AI should create value.

Before, during and after the day

Before
Nothing for participants to prepare. We hold discovery calls with the stakeholders, and you can share any AI work or programs you have already done. If useful, we add a short optional survey for participants. For longer programs, we may also hold preparation calls with participants.
During
Short inputs, and most of the time working: hands-on with AI on real tasks, and in small groups on your own challenges.
After
Job aids and frameworks with examples from your industry and company, a written summary of what the team agreed, and optional follow-up sessions to support you and address challenges. For larger programs, we can also prepare facilitator guides for your internal co-facilitators and build a companion AI app for the program.

When this may not be the right fit

  • The leadership team itself will not be in the room
  • You need someone to choose or build AI tools for you
  • You want a talk rather than a working day. See talks by Amir Elion.

Questions

How is this different from an AI training course?

A training course teaches tools. This workshop is about leading the change: the leadership team uses AI so it knows what it is asking of others, and spends most of the day agreeing how to lead the transformation.

Do we need prior AI knowledge?

No. We adapt the day to the group's experience, and everyone tries things themselves.

Can our managers do it too?

Yes, there is a separate workshop for managers, Leading change in the age of AI. Many companies start with the leadership team and then run the manager workshop.
